520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "The Origins of Totalitarianism is a book by Hannah Arendt that explores the histories of anti-semitism and imperialism and their influence on the development of modern totalitarian regimes. Arendt argues that anti-semitism, race-thinking, and the age of new imperialism from 1884-1914 laid the foundation for totalitarianism in the twentieth century. The book describes the various preconditions and subsequent rise of anti-Semitism in central, eastern, and western Europe in the early-to-mid 19th century. Arendt also gives clear warning on how to avoid predatory totalitarian movements in the future. "
