Summary: This book is an explorative examination of the outstanding magnum opuses from genres not usually included in a local textbook. These are novel and theater play. Thus, this book has novel study, which is the Tree by F. Sionil Jose, and theater play study, which is Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw. It also includes representatives texts of genres such as essay, which is play as literature by Joyce Carol Oates, and those of genres usually found in regular textbooks. The choice of text is also based on countries whose influence as much as possible has been ubiquitous in Philippine literature history.
