Summary: "This textbook, Statistics and Probability: For Senior High School, has been designed in accordance with the curriculum of the K to 12 program of the Department of Education, and may serve the competency requirements of the different academic tracks in senior high school. The text, which assumes that the area of descriptive statistics has been fully covered in lower grade levels, is divided into two major units. The structure of the discussion adopts the procedural approach. Unit I, with three chapters, basically provides enough introductory concepts to inferential statistics. Part of the discussion refreshes the learners on probability concepts and counting rules before introducing the principles of probability and estimation. Unit II, which has three chapters as well, focuses largely on hypothesis testing involving the test statistics for the difference and relationship. The different approaches in testing the hypothesis are clearly illustrated as basis in drawing statistical conclusion. Since the field of statistics is negatively perceived because of voluminous statistical computations, the entire text greatly considers the level of understanding of the learners. This book is a friendly learning material in statistics." -- Preface.
