"The Contemporary world is based on the curriculum for higher educational institution as prepared and recommended by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to be implemented starting School Year 2018-2019. No one can dispute the globalization has taken its toll in every society. Though the team itself appeared only in the 1960s, the world has been globalized for more than four hundred years. Globalization has evolved over time and has become most prominent at the end of the Cold War, leading to changes in technology, social, economic and political aspects in different countries. The book compiles scholarly studies of sociologists, political scientists, and academicians on the effects of globalization on social and economic matters, the influence of globalization upon democracy, new opportunities brought about by globalization, and some uncontrolled risks fir the national culture and economy and so forth. Through these articles, the students are given the opportunities to understand and appreciate the globalization phenomenon. Prepare themselves not only to embrace the positive gains but also to come up with solutions to address the probable negative consequences globalization brings to us."
